I'm watching TV with mum and pretending to write while waiting for my laundry to be done. Everytime I have to do laundry I remember that we moved into the crappy apartment we're in because it had a washer and dryer hook-up. But then we never bought a washer and dryer, and so I still have to cart my laundry over to my parents once or twice a week if I want clean underwear. It's cheaper than going to a laundry mat.
I've been having really awesome writer's block lately (please mind the sarcasm) so it's been a pretty down time around the tiny apartment I call hell. I work short shifts a few days a week making chump change and they're early shifts. Jeremy works during the day, and the shift changes occassionally but his latest shift is only till ten at night. I generally work from five or six until ten or eleven. Even if he's on the first shift he still doesn't get home until 4:30-5. That leaves me five hours, roughly, of sitting at home and talking to myself because I have no friends and no life. It's also winter and ridiculous out, oh and fuel costs an arm and a leg (rough estimate) so I have nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Seems like a great time to write and be productive and finish at least one freaking story and see if some crap sci-fi mag is interested. Instead I re-watch Arrested Development (God knows it's not a waste of time, that show is amazing) and pretend to write.
I actually get out some source material, I grab some notebooks with half-finished sentences, etc. but to no avail. I just end up reciting the episodes practically verbatim and feeling very very very sad about my life.
Or writing a blog post.

It's Never Anything Interesting
For some reason I opened a Twitter account. Now I "Tweet" when I'm at work. It helps that I'm not on the floor during store hours so it's not as if I'm ignoring customers or anything but still, phones aren't allowed the floor. So it kinda makes me feel like a rebel when I send out a quick text or tweet while I'm sizing shirts, or pretending to find a different song on Pandora.
In related news, I sincerely dislike my job. Most people do but they don't have a blog or Twitter account to bitch about it so they can shut their faces.
I want a new job. And when I tweeted something similar to that I recieved two messages from random people and/or accounts asking if I wanted a new job. Hey, how about we don't spam Storm after she's had her account open not even two days, Twitter.

Super Bowl
Until the game started and somebody mentioned the teams, I had no idea who was even playing. That's how out of the loop I am regarding football, sports in general really. Although I am happy the Packers won cause I'm tired of hearing Steelers fans talk about how amazing their team is and how they're going to win, and blah blah blah. Shut up. I don't care.
At work one day, on a Sunday, a co-worker asked me if I wanted in on the pool (is that what it's called?) for the game that night. My first question wasn't 'who's playing?', which they at least would have expected, but instead it was 'what pool?'
I had no idea sports were going on.
They were like, 'Storm! You live in Ohio! All we talk about is football!' And I was all, 'don't raise your voice to me! I have better things to do with my time than watch sports games!'
I don't but they don't know that.
Saturday Jeremy asked me if we knew anyone who was having a Super Bowl party, and I asked why cause he shows only slightly more interest in sports than I do. He said he wanted deviled eggs. So we went to my parents, who we thought were sure to have deviled eggs, they do for almost literally every other occasion.
Not this time.
Sorry Jeremy.

Periods and TMI and such
So nobody needs to know about this stuff. When women are on their periods, they shouldn't talk about it. Keep that to yourself. Nobody cares. And it's kinda gross.
HOWEVER, I had an awesome experience today. I ran out of tampons, so I had to run to the drugstore and I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. So I'm hungry and on my period.
I bought like, the biggest box of tampons possible, if I could have found it in bulk I probably would have bought that. Cause I felt like I was going to bleed to death. But I didn't...well, haven't yet. Gah wouldn't that be horrifying.
Anyway, I have this enormous box of tampons that I pretty much have to use two hands to carry and makes me feel like I'm some kind of animal, bleeding out like a 6'5" behemoth with large bone structure, and I think, naturally, 'man chocolate would be fucking sweet right now.'
So I grab some chocolate milk, and a Yoohoo (which reminds me, Yoohoo is made by God) and I go to check out. The cashier eyes my items and as she scans them she says, 'Would, you like sooommme... chocolate? They're two for two dollars?'
And of course I was like, fuck yes I would like some two for two chocolate. And I ravenously grab a bunch of Hershey Drops and shit.
Moral of the story: do not shop where there is food when you're hungry and on your period.
Also, Hershey Drops are both delicious and adorable.

Wedding Nonsense
I may have discovered the depths of my laziness the other day while my dad and I were discussing wedding plans. My parents have a big backyard and I'm basically a hippie so I thought 'let's get married at my parents house!' which Jeremy agreed to pretty much because it meant we wouldn't have to look at other venues.
Now before I go further my dad offered us a very large sum of money for our wedding, towards our honeymoon, as a down payment on a house, however we wanted to use it basically. Which was wonderful cause we're both pretty poor. (And not in that 'happy but poor' way, just poor and and putting up with each other.)
So we decided to it would be great if we kinda just let the wedding thing fall to the side, I mean get married but not really do a ceremony or anything, and just have a fucking sweet honeymoon. (So we're going to Wales in July.) But then the more we talked about marriage related things the more input we had from family and the more guilt they made us feel for not wanting to do anything.
I'm sorry, mom and dad, if I'm against paying for seating, food, drinks, and having to call hotels to set aside rooms for relatives that I haven't seen in literally over a decade or more and especially relatives that I've never even met.
To make matters more irritating, I never thought about my wedding when I was kid. My barbies never had ceremonies, my friends and I never played dress-up and one of us was the bride or groom or whatever, I just never considered it. Marriage was never a moment in my life that I imagined. Family and commitment was always very important to me (and it still is) but I didn't see why I had to change to my last name. (And that issue is for another post.)
So planning a wedding was a huge, annoying, irritating, aggravating, issue for me. And of course Jeremy was no help. Which is bullshit cause he's the one who proposed. He should have some GD input!
Fortunately the whole problem may have been solved this past weekend while at my parents house talking with my dad. He said after the very large sum of money he gives us, he's not doing anything else. He'll show up, well-dressed and not at all resembling an individual who just came down from the mountains concealing a jug of moonshine somewhere about his person, and he'll walk me down the aisle, dance with me, etc. but other than that he's done.
I said, 'dad, what on earth does that mean?'
To which he replied, with the answer to all of my wedding problems, 'I'm not cleaning out the yard, or setting up any tables, or finding room for people to park. I'm not doing any of that.'
And I went, 'Oh. Okay.'
I don't want to do that either. So I think we'll just go downtown to the courthouse and send our families wedding announcements instead of invitations. I am way to lazy to do all that stuff. I have better things to do.
Which probably makes me a horrible person, but Jeremy also said he doesn't want to do any of that. So two horrible people are marrying each other. You're welcome, world.

Handels, craft stores, and video games
So yesterday was our "go out and do stuff" day, which isn't actually a weekly thing it just happened that yesterday we did a bunch of stuff. So today we haven't done anything. Jeremy hasn't even showered yet, which... gross. I don't know maybe it's just me but I really enjoy showering. Being clean is one of the awesomest things for me.
It's probably true.
Anyway this is what we managed to accomplish yesterday, not that any of it is of interest:
And it was amazing.

(An image search for Handel's Cake Batter Ice Cream pulls up this guy, George Frideric Handel, conveniently one of my favorite composers. Fun fact: I had no idea his middle name was Frideric.)
I'll post pictures of the project when it's finished, cause it's going to be Bad Ass, yes upper case badassery. B.A., if you will... Barackus style.
Out.
It's probably true.
Anyway this is what we managed to accomplish yesterday, not that any of it is of interest:
- Got Jeremy's hair cut (which he really needed... he was starting to look like a Beatles reject)
- Bought random stuff at the craft store to occupy us later yesterday evening (and it did too, I'm still working on my project)
- Called about a duplex for rent that's kind of out of our price range but we're looking at it anyway
- Walked around the mall to work off the Five Guys we had for lunch-
And it was amazing.
- Bought stuff, including but not limited to: video games, candles, feathers, etc.
- Went to Handel's (and I still have ice cream left over, which I'm currently delighting in... mmm cake batter)

(An image search for Handel's Cake Batter Ice Cream pulls up this guy, George Frideric Handel, conveniently one of my favorite composers. Fun fact: I had no idea his middle name was Frideric.)
- Had soup for dinner and watched Starship Troopers (does anybody else love it despite how awful the acting is? It's essentially a propaganda film, which I've never read the book but I don't know if that's the purpose of the book too, I imagine it is, Heinlein really enjoyed his messages.)
I'll post pictures of the project when it's finished, cause it's going to be Bad Ass, yes upper case badassery. B.A., if you will... Barackus style.
Out.

"On top of the mountain peak...
...where man speaks to himself."
I'm getting restless again. I really don't enjoy winter and I'm super excited that summer's coming soon. Spring is nice cause some of the snow melts but it always comes back before June. And always at some random time after it's been beautiful and 70 for weeks and then out of nowhere... snow. Effs up my sinuses and makes me want to drill a hole in my face... to relieve pressure, not for any sick benefit or anything.
I spelled 'benefit' wrong and the spell check immediately corrected me. And just now when I spelled 'immediately' I got it right the very first time. Yay me.
We saw Repo Men last night. When I first saw a commercial for it I was like, hey this seems very familiar... except there's no rock-opera music. The good news is that Repo Men is only similar to The Genetic Opera in that there's organ repossession. Other than that, totally different story line. And really good actually. Satisfying ending
The picture is pretty, which is why it's here. It calms me occasionally. The crane represents peace and longevity and if you make 1000 paper cranes you get a wish. It's also part of our wedding decor. Which I'm really excited about. Ooh! I'm making this a semi-wedding blog. It will chronicle wedding preparation, wedding day, and honeymoon... which will be in Wales. As well as random BS, which is to be expected from me. I'm all excited now. Take that restlessness!
